Early this morning, around 5:30 AM CDT, I got a call from my mother. My grandfather, her father, Robert Lowery (AKA Bob, Uncle Bob, Bobby Lawrence) died today at age 80. He went quickly according to my mother. We're having him cremated like he wanted. heh, we even have an urn that says on the front "Ashes of Problem Teachers" since he was an English teacher.

I didn't think he would be the grandfather I lost first. Hell, with all of Grandpa Stumpff's visits to the hospital and his stroke, I thought I'd lose him first. I imagine Grandpa Lowery's heart just gave out.

I took off from work today to be with my mother, I'm at her house now. Close friends and relatives have already gotten a text message from me about his death, and I just wanted to let the rest of y'all know. I dunno when the funeral will be, probably sometime early next week. Or should I say memorial service? Cuz Grandpa didn't want anyone crying at his funeral, so I won't. We'll remember and celebrate his life, cuz damn it was a good one, and it touched so many others.
